Life keeps throwing punches

she’s determined, she’s gotta teach me

she has a plan

some of her punches slip by

causing no harm

some others overwhelm,

beat me up beyond recognition

she keeps throwing punches

but won’t talk

and I’m beat and exhausted

I’m not calling you bitch this time

I’m not calling you overrated

I have the choice

but you have the power

and you have the wisdom

if you keep throwing punches

all I have to say is

I’ve stocked up on Advil.
