I’m sitting at this restaurant in Santo Domingo and I ask for a beer:
“Light or regular?” asks the waiter
“Regular”, I said.
“You said “light”, right?
“No, I said “regular”.
“Are you sure?” (in state of shock)
“Yes, sure.”
So, i figure this guy is just weird. Two restaurants later, where I was brought “light” beer without even being asked my preference I’ve come to the conclusion that “light” is the new default. “What have you been living under a rock?!” Asked my sister. I guess I have. Forgive my ignorance.
Tú lo has dicho. Ahora para pedir una cerveza tiene que ser de esas dos maneras. Los dominicanos nos acostumbramos a lo “eso” o “esto”. No existen más opciones.
Si, pero por qué la preferencia? Menos calorías, más barata, mejor sabor, menos borrachera? Curiosidad… a lo mejor alguien sabe.
