Life happened and I forgot skin
glowing silk yogurt, endless
It happened that I forgot bliss
muted breath replenishing, silence
and one day I woke up with a ring on my finger
you whispered, “we should be together”
and I drew a blank at should
Should broken birds fly solo?
Should infants be left alone?
Should I honor your comment with a comment?
Life happened and you forgot
You forgot and life happened
I like it this way
last time you happened
It was life I forgot.

Hi and congrats! I found good poetry on your blog and I liked your devotion for Dominicans.
I am the editor of a Romanian literary magazine and I decided to dedicated a few pages to good poetry from all over the world — found on blogs — in Romanian translation, of course. That is how I got here. Please accept my invitation to contribute with two poems. If you are interested (and for more details), please contact me at ad.sumus@laposte.net.
Thank you and keep writing. You are doing it right, that’s my opinion.
A painful and powerful end to the poem.
So true. Ah, amore! I loved this poem, Tuttysan. From one poet to another, you write beautifully and really capture the essence of things.
Thanks Harmonie.
