I was less impressed by this Coelho book than others I’ve read such as The Alchemist and Eleven Minutes. Although one does not read Paulo Coelho for his mind-twisting plots, I found the one in this story extremely predictable and overall lacking of the nuances that make you want more. That said, the one constant in Coelho’s books was present in this one: a knack for reminding you how precious life is and how each moment should be lived as though it were the last. For that, Veronika Decides to Die is worth the few hours it took to read.
